BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Battle of Salamis was fought between an Alliance of Greek city-states and the Persian Empire in 480 BC, in the straits between the mainland and Salamis. Once again the Allies chose their ground strategically in order to negate Persian great numbers. The monument of”Warriors of Salamis" honors those who fell in the battle generously and "seals" the fact of their eternal sacrifice.
